muskir

Any intoxicating substance. Muskir includes any substance that causes intoxication, no matter what it is made from (e.g. grapes, dates, barley, chemicals, etc.) or what form it takes (e.g. liquid, powder, pill). If something makes you drunk or high, it is ḥarām, this includes drugs, spirits, or synthetic intoxicants.
